What is Peruvian Lemonade?

Peruvian lemonade, known as “limonada,” is a refreshing drink made from fresh limes. It’s typically mixed with water and sugar. Some recipes add a pinch of salt for balance. This drink is popular in Peru, especially on hot days. It’s often served chilled, making it perfect for cooling off. Limonada can be enjoyed plain or with fruit like strawberries for added flavor. This simple yet tasty beverage

Best Tips for this Peruvian Lemonade Recipe

  • Fresh, Beautiful Limes: Emphasis on the fresh and beautiful. This recipe calls for limes (sorry lemons), but also the use of the skin. So pick the brightest and best-est!
  • Sugar: Brown sugar is the authentic way! However, cane or white will work perfectly too. This drink is meant to be sweet, but start with less, then add more by preference.
  • Serve Immediately: This does not do well sitting in the fridge… as the remaining turns bitter.

Making this Peruvian Lemonade Recipe is an easy way to enjoy a refreshing drink at home. With simple ingredients like fresh limes, sugar, and water, you can create a unique twist on a classic beverage. This recipe not only quenches thirst but also brings a taste of Peru to your table. It even tastes better with Lomo Saltado! Enjoy a burst of a new flavor.

May the LORD bless your hands as you prepare, your table as you gather, and your food as you eat
