Ingredients
8corn tortillasfor tostadas
2medium tomatoesroasted
2dried chiliessuch as guajillo or pasilla
1/4cuponionchopped
2garlic clovesminced
1tbsplime juice
1/4cupfresh cilantrochopped
shredded lettucefor garnish

Instructions
Roast the Ingredients:
Roast the tomatoes, chilies, and onion under the broiler or on a hot comal until charred.
Peel the tomatoes and remove the stems from the chilies.
Blend the Salsa:
In a blender, combine the roasted tomatoes, chilies, garlic, and lime juice.
Blend until smooth, adding salt to taste.
Fry the Tortillas:
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the tortillas until crispy, about 2 minutes per side.
Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Assemble:
Spoon the salsa roja over each tostada, and top with a handful of shredded lettuce.
