Haitian Non-Alcoholic Kremas (Cremas)

Here we have a rich, creamy, and indulgent treat, that is Haitian (Non-Alcoholic) Kremas (Cremas)! This beloved drink is traditionally made for celebrations and gatherings, but our non-alcoholic version allows everyone to enjoy its deliciousness.

What is Kremas (Cremas)?

Kremas/Cremas is a sweet, creamy beverage made from coconut milk, spices, and sometimes rum. In our non-alcoholic version, we keep all the rich flavors but leave out the alcohol. Just a handful of ingredients are needed:

  • Coconut, Evaporated, and Sweetened Condensed Milk: Yes, all three!
  • Vanilla Extract: Because of that sweet aroma.
  • Almond Extract: Our non-alcoholic secret ingredient!
  • Ground Nutmeg and Cinnamon: Lovely spices for warmth.
  • Salt: Just a pinch!

Instructions

Instructions as easy as 1, 2, 3… (4)!

  1. Milk Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the three milks.
  2. Add: Stir in the extracts and spices with salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Chill: Allow the Kremas to chill for at least two hours.
  4. Serve: 1, 2, 3, it’s done! Enjoy chilled Kremas with extra sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon!

Ingredients

  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

Combine

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the coconut milk, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk.

Add

  • Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  • Mix until well combined.

Chill

  • Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours

Serve

  • Pour the kremas into glasses over ice.
